With reference to the previous post re: 'hard gay' I've just realised that
the originator of the character ( well-an amusing version) was a British
comedian called Kenny Everett and his 'Sid Snot' character.

He was spectacularly sacked from the BBC, kept the gossip columns
lively with his labyrinthine love-life and drew horrified gasps
from the watchdogs for his spoof-sexy TV show.
Now he was inspirational and hilarious............
