SOUTH KOREA TO LEGALISE GAY MARRIAGE?
In a recently published paper, Judge Chung Jae-oh of Jeju District
Court says South Korea needs to discuss legislation for a framework
for same-sex unions.
Chung calls for a legal basis for the union of same-sex
couples that protects their rights and contributes to ending
discrimination.
In a recent suit filed by a woman who sought division and
alimony from her female partner, the Seoul High Court ruled
against the plaintiff, saying cohabitation of same-sex couples
could not be regarded as a virtual marriage.
