Coronation Street

I've just come across this video of the first gay relationship screened on Coronation Street back in 2003. Coronation Street is the UK's longest running soap (47 years) and is set in a working class Manchester community. The soap was created by Tony Warren who is himself gay and came out way back in the 60's before decriminalisation.

Unfortunately, poor Todd (black hair) was supposed to marry his fiance Sarah and it all went a bit pear shaped for him and Karl.

My sources tell me that Todd is now working behind the Bar at Atlas Bar in Manchester. That's acting for you!
